“KARACHI: AN EXPANDING CITY WITH EXPANDING PROBLEMS”

Karachi is the the most populated city in Pakistan. After independence from the British Empire in 1947, millions have moved here and set up home. However, demand for affordable housing has far outstripped supply, and this has led to the growth of shanty towns and slums. As Karachi's population continues to expand, so do its social, economic and environmental problems. It has become the task of the authorities to provide millions of people with the basic services required to live a safe and healthy life.
